Brooklyn Botanical Gardens Demo

Lately I have had quite a few inquiries from brides who are getting married at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, so I thought I would post a recent wedding that I captured there. I love filming at the Gardens.....Colorful flowers, the lily pond, walking hand in hand along the paths, the cherry blossoms, and of course the beautiful Palm House all make for a stunning "set." In this clip, The Brooklyn Botanical Gardens was a lovely backdrop for Yasemin and Harun's stylish and fun affair. Yasemin's Monique Lhuillier dress was one of my favorites from 2009. Doesn't she look glamorous?

Bar Mitzvah Demo

I have had quite a few requests for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs lately, so I thought I'd post a few demo clips here. Both clips are from Matt's Bar Mitzvah, which I wrote about this past February.

Matt's parents planned two parties, the first was an elegant lunch at the Four Seasons:

Later that night, they threw a hip and fun baseball-themed dance party where the kids (and adults!) went really wild! Here's a recap of the night:

Kleinfeld's Sample Sale Blowout!

Yesterday I went with one of my oldest and dearest friends, Jodi, to Kleinfeld's for one of their famous sample sales.  I have been in the wedding business for years, and many of my clients buy their dresses from Kleinfeld's but that was the first time I have ever been in the store.  Let me just say WOW!  Needless to say, it was bridal mayhem, and we searched through racks and racks of Badgley Mischka, Carolina Herrera, Christian Lacroix, MaxMara, Monique Lhuillier, Reem Acra and Jenny Lee dresses.  TLC was there filming an episode of "Say Yes to the Dress," so we also spent considerable time dodging the cameras! (Although I think they got us, so I will have to check the show out to see how we looked).  The highlight of the day for me was meeting the owner of Kleinfeld's, Ronnie Rothstein.  It is always nice meeting another figure in the New York City bridal world, and sharing insights and stories.  In the end, Jodi picked out a sweet and elegant dress by Amsale, which she looks gorgeous in.
Here's a clip of one of my brides getting ready with her friends and putting on her dress.  It is such an emotional and exciting time which I love to capture!

Fashion Week: Michael Kors, Christian Siriano, and Barbie!

Fashion Week began for me on February 7th when I filmed Matthew's bar mitzvah luncheon at the Four Seasons in NYC.  The fashionable guests in attendance included many of Matthew's mom's friends from her days working as a designer for Michael Kors, including Michael Kors himself.  Later, at a hip Yankees-themed party at the Metropolitan Pavillion, Matthew and his friends had a blast taking photos, dancing, playing games and hanging out with Christian Siriano, from Project Runway.
Later that week I was asked to film at Barbie's 50th Anniversary Runway Show at Bryant Park. This was one of those great shoots where my love of video and retro fashion came together, and I really enjoyed being the paparazzi.  The makeup and stylings for the models were over the top, and it was adorable seeing all the little girls in the audience.  Here's a short clip from the event:

My first post! And some fun recent projects...

I just got back from a trip to New England where I worked on some pretty cool projects.
First, I filmed two music events for The Yellow Umbrella Organization, which uses fun music events to educate women about cervical cancer.  There were some amazing bands at both the Paradise Rock Club show in Boston and the Gulu Gulu Cafe in Salem, Mass.  Most notably, Jesse Ciarmataro performed under his solo project, Qwill.  Both nights were full of education, charity, and talented musicians.  It was a pleasure shooting for Christine Baze, the Organization's founder.
Next up I drove to Kennebunk, Maine to film an interview with Tom Chappell, co-founder of Tom's Of Maine.  The footage will ultimately be used in a news piece for Forbes.com.  Tom and his wife Kate live in a lovely old federal, where they've replaced the old heating system with a completely geo thermal system.  It was really uplifting to hear Tom speak of how we are all interrelated and that our relationships are what ultimately make us human.  He believes that in business, companies should nurture good relationships with everyone involved; the workers, the customers, the financial backers, the higher ups, the environment, and the local community.  I also got to swing by his sheep farm where the adorable sheep kept rubbing their noses on my lens!
